The Sons were still waiting for the Sands, and it was night. Nero had left them - his deep glow had kept them awake before, and he could protect them. Ripping apart Gigas and luring away elementals.

Holding himself tall, Nero had just finished off another Gigas, their blood fresh on one of the floating hands around him. (Why bother fixing his own hands when these could be installed? Garlemald had done this, and Nero enjoyed that Cid had given him new hands.)

But even from the light red glow from his body, Nero could sense more movement. In a moment, he had rushed over--

--and moved to pin the one who'd appeared, eyes narrowed. This wasn't another common monster. ]

[It's been an age since G'raha's actually been out and about in the environment around the Crystal Tower, and he's kind of enjoying it! The aggressive creatures around it, not so much, but the person- person?- taking care of them he appreciates! The glow's nice, being pinned not so much.

He waves a little- tries, at least, tail flicking. (Wouldn't have looked right without one, they'd said, and he'd appreciated the effort!)]

Ah. Hello?

...Who are you.

[ Nero doesn't seem to be paying attention, that much, as he asks it - looking around. Peering around, is there more? He needs to fight, he needs to protect. Then, Cid will stay this time. ]

[G'raha- glances a little, ears swivelling. There's the sound of some more gigas, but- not too close! That's god, he's sure.]

G'raha Tia, at your service! Such as it is. [he's not- really much of a fighter, just got enough to scrape by.] And you are?

[ There's a deep mechanical growl from his throat, as Nero finally focuses on G'raha.

And pauses. No, he won't answer yet. ]

. . . . . Ally of Rammbroes?

[…oh. Interesting! G'raha's ears twitch forwards again, and he focuses on Nero, intrigued.]

I've been helping out- I know something of the history of the Tower! You're to join us?

I am a Weapon belonging to Cid Garlond - the man who's opening it up for you and the Sons.

[ stiiillll not giving his name. and nero plz, cid keeps telling you you're not a weapon to him! ]

Not that I'm not amused by the attempts they've made to enter so far, mind you.

Weapon…? [He makes a little inquisitive sound, trying to lean in a bit to look closer. He vaguely remembers- something? This person- he thinks?- doesn't look a lot like that, but he hadn't been particularly interested- nor a part of that.]

They are missing a good component, I think! But they're trying.

Right now, the plan is to use aethersand to sand down crystals, to reflect the energy which could end their lives.

[ At least Nero's letting go of G'raha, beginning to seemingly relax - no, no, he's staring rather hard at him - eyes seeming to flicker a little. He's slightly biting his lips, however, as he does so. ]

I think they've been waiting for you, Tia. [ he always forgets what these miqo'te like being called. not important they need to burn if they refuse garlemald-- ] But right now, they'd be... asleep.

Clever! Assuming it's the right kind- and it should, your Cid's a clever one, isn't he- it'll work perfectly.

[This is nice! He appreciates being allowed freedom, and he blinks back at Nero, watching him in turn, a little concerned with the look of Nero's chassis. No glow here, though there's still some otherness- Sharlayan wouldn't make an automaton look that indistinguishable.]

Hah- I should apologise, then! [perhaps.] I was taking in the sights. [he nods, not looking very concerned.] Well, no rush then- we can wait for them to wake.

We got the Warrior of Light - hero of heroes, ender of Ultima Weapon - to get them.

[ ...Why does Nero look sad at mentioning Ultima Weapon? He's still in his full armour, so it seems - but it's still glowing, still lighting the area. At least Nero doesn't seem to be in pain.

But then, he snarls. ]

It's not simply a place to roam. [ Relaxing, he gives a small smile. ] 15 years ago, there was a grand battle here - and some of these savages are still riled up.

Oh- [huh.] They're sure to be delivered, then!

[G'raha tilts his head at that, curious. Weapons, huh… And the light is nice! Fairly nice- he worries they'll attract something, more.

He puts a hand up, tail flicking.]

I've realised! It's been an interesting experience. [He gives another nod, frowning.] Hard to miss- they seem to have taken teh shape of the Tower for their own.

[ Nero grins a little. ] It'll be fun to watch them return - and then we can explore. [ A beat. ] Even if Garlond thinks I shouldn't aid inside the tower. No, it'll make it collapse, or so he claims.

[ Huff huff listen Cid doesn't want Nero to go full powered. ] It's disturbing, isn't it. Power doesn't make them worthy of it. Is that why you came, automation?

[ Yup he noticed. And if this automation has knowledge? Is it another Weapon? ]

I should think so! I'd like to see what they all discover in there- the rooms and whatever secret passages they find! [please find some he is Excited] Oh- well we can't have that! It's a nice building.

[sounds fair tbh] It doesn't… Hm? [he blinks, and makes a face.] I wanted to get in. It's… important.

[knowledge is a kind of weapon… sort of…]

[ oh boy nero wants to find everything he will run amok since unlike canon he's? not interested? in abusing the power here. well he is a little. ]

I won't bother asking why. [ Nero then says. ] If it's important, then it's important.

I... want to go there too. It's stimulating to consider the nobility of those who originally crafted me. [ he cant remember why cant he remember this is just what he's been told, he has to believe it he hates it ]

[Well, there is a bunch of power, so that's not really unexpected. G'raha's still more excited about seeing people explore! Anything else- eh, he'll manage it. Somehow.

He looks relieved, a little.] Thank you.

Then I'll be glad to see you there! Mm, they did some very impressive work! Do you remember anything of them?

...No. [ Nero says, looking away a little. Embarrassed...? His expression was hard to read. ] I don't recall, sorry to say. I-- I was broken, G'raha. [ That's how he addresses them, right? ] It's shocking I'm alive - but who wouldn't discard a Weapon when he's done?

Oh. [He reaches out for Nero- giving him an encouraging nod. Yes, that's fine.] I'm sorry to hear that. But- perhaps the Tower will hold some record! [he shakes his head.] I don't know… I wouldn't have said they were in the habit of just throwing us away. [for one, others might have actually been able to learn something from them.]

[ Nero can't help it - he slinks back a little, trying not to appear nervous. N-no. He's fine, finally meeting another being like him. ]

That's what I'm hoping - or, at least, something to look over. Hah, maybe there's even something I can watch Garlond fiddle with. [ He's softly smiling, even if he doesn't want to be touched. ]

...My name is Nero. I was found deep inside Garlemald. From all my research, the Allagan Empire never reached up that far.

[He doesn't press, just leaving his hand out there for a moment before letting it drop.]

Well, there should be. Or some clue, at least! [he grins.] Something for all of us, hm?

[an eyebrow shoots up, and he nods, committing that to memory.] A pleasure, Nero. I wonder- it must have been a long way to go. What would there have been…? [he's gonna think on it.]

Hah - now that'd be nice. [ Nero can't help but begin to use one of his floating hands to examine G'raha - huh, his arms don't seem to move much, do they? ] Better then simply finding out it's a danger to us all, hm?

[ If it is, he'll do what he needs to. That's what he is. ]

...I wouldn't know. As I said, don't remember anything before being woken. It's frustrating, isn't it? Here I am - a marvel of Allagan and Garlean mechanisms - and I don't even know how!

Indeed! It was something of a marvel, after all. [He'll have to make sure they do find something, then! G'raha raises his eyebrows again, peering interestedly at Nero's hands in return.] These are- I don't recognise the design, are these newer?

[he nods, with a little sound.] It must be- I'm sorry you lost all of that. I wonder- and perhaps there's a record, of sorts. I can't promise, but… we can look.

[ A distraction from his past. Nero looks to the hand, and grins. ] It began as an Allagan design, but Gaius got his top engineers to give me a hand. I'd modify them more, but I'm no engineer.

[ A beat. ]

I-I'm simply a Weapon, G'raha.

[good! G'raha hums, encouragingly.] Garlean work on top of Allagan design? They're no slouches, to be sure. [he tilts his head.] But you have an interest?

[another little touch to one hand.]

We're having a far better conversation than I ever had with one of the Weapons before, you know.

Hah - Garlemald shall suppass Allag some day, even if Garlond wishes to protect this Tower from them. [ ...Nero you don't like Garlemald, why are you ego-ing about them. ] It's fascinating, that hands of lesser beings can craft creatures like I--

--You claim to have spoken with Weapon before? [ Nero then says, seeming to focus a little. Though he sounds calm, his almost glare says otherwise. ]

Well- they have time on their side, certainly! Or- well, if Eorzeans did ever decide to turn this way… [he looks pretty pleased. That means the Tower means a lot to someone! He likes that.]

Oh- well, yes! [he grins- a little awkwardly. What is he glaring for…] That was a long time ago, though.
