fae uri :3c
The fact that Urianger was claimed by the faerie had become known to many. Not really outside the group of the Scions and their allies, but to them, it was known.
However, the fact he'd retreated to his fae hangout, what he called his world tree, was slightly worrying. He still helped when asked, and still cared for the Lopporits and the such, but there was a strange aura around the Elezen-faerie.
Even moreso when he'd begun to clearly keep secrets again, though he had promised it was not anything that would harm others. Yet, here he was, opening his house to others again. He remained in his Astrologian robes, his antlers worn proudly. (He was so proud whenever they came in!)
A path of flowers led to him, where he sat in silence by the massive roots of his home, a few wild beasts having made their way to rest around him. But perhaps he slipped a bit too much - he was not paying attention, and for a moment, it would be visible - the absolute pain and despair on his face, as he looked at the wild deer around him.
But he would soon hide it, as he heard another approach...

She could tell something was up, but what -she wasn't sure! The Auri was careful about stepping on flowers, trying to avoid them where she could, her footsteps were light.
"Urianger!" She called out, her tone was just as light as her footsteps. If something was on her mind, she sure didn't show it.

"Nyasha," he said with his same gentle tone. "Is aught amiss?" Even with her own lightness, Urianger was already wary.

Tate, her elder brother, a Sunseeker with a serious disposition. A man who watched the Red Moon fall and disappear as Louisoix slayed Bahamut, who had stood beside Urianger as Hildibrand launched himself into the moon face first.
"It looks like I am going to win the race." She seemed proud of herself, like any younger sibling who had the leg up on their elder.

Said so playfully. Why, at this time, Urianger even seemed to be enjoying his playful jab. "Then again... it would be another wonderful accomplishment for you to fill it out. What has been the best place you've seen so far?"
no subject
She pulled her knees up to her chest, as she thought for a few moments, the tip of her tail moving gently back and forth.
"On the Source? Zenith." she said with a smile, "I am glad I helped the moogles fix that place up. You should go there, at the very top of it all, there is a place where you can see all the Churning Mists, from Moghome to the Aery." A sign of when then children of the Land and the children of the Sky were one in peace before it all went to hell.
Nyasha was happy they were moving on from that.

Travel for himself, to see such... Urianger gently shook his head. "I fear the moogle may pull at my antlers," he said quietly. A bit of his facade breaking for a moment. "Though I cannot deny it is likely beautiful. I actually went there once, long ago."
no subject
When Urianger said the last bit, she cocked her head to the side. "When?" she was curious, and despite the act that her soul was anything but new, one could easily mistake it as such.
"Tell me about it."
She leaned forward slightly, her eyes wide. Lavender and Gold. Lucky in the eyes of her mother's clan. Perhaps that luck is what kept her alive despite everything. There was a saying the Gods protected children, fools and drunkards. At times like this, it was obvious how they could see her as a child despite being a woman of 25 summers.

"It was... long ago. Peace had begun, for dragon and man. I-- it was when I was alone."
But every word was filled with pain. His shoulders slumped, the Elezen looking suddenly exhausted. "I saw all of the Churning Mists. I felt it all. It was... it is beautiful."
You know, him not wanting to say he died there. That he was part of the aether... sometimes, he wonders, is his aether still there? Is he still blooming there? He wondered if the moogles or dragons ever sensed him there.

"I'm sorry you were alone." she looked out at the landscape in front of them. "I wish I could have been there with you."

To himself, anything is more important then him. It's what he's seen and been taught.

She wasn't going to hide it behind fancy words, that was Urianger's job to do.
"If I had known and had the choice, I would have chosen to be besides you." she looked up. "After all, this is my current life, and I want to live it how I want. No regrets."
Said like an Adventurer, said no differently than the woman in the Seasong Grotto with a weathered grimoire hanging from her waist, talking to Y'Shtola, fresh off the carriage - unaware of what lay ahead.
"So, I would have chosen you." A smile.

No. He closes his eyes again, even as he held her. No bitterness. No cruelty. He wasn't allowed to hold such. But the tiredness and sorrow entered his voice. "I had gone there to fight an Ascian. They had gotten their hands on a powerful body, and auracite. I dare not risk anybody else.
I had plenty of time to see the beauty of the land after that, however."

"I was afraid those I cared about would be hurt. Or so I've been told."
no subject
"You are smart though, you're good at finding the direction that needs to be gone in, but when you do that - go in a direction without me. I don't know what to do. And by the time I find out, you get hurt."
no subject
"...It all turned out okay, in the end," Urianger mumbled. "And none of you found out until Thancred suspected something had happened." And soon, even Thancred was gone, his soul stolen.
"My... expertise does not matter much, when it comes to such. I wish not to burden others with things I can solve myself, lest things get worse and more complex." And now he was a fae lord, he should be able to do everything...
...Oh. Perhaps that explained his quiet exhaustion.
cw: slur ment
"Despite everything, you're still one man." Nyasha said softly. "You've been through so much, it worries me. And I don't know what to do. Tate would say 'Don't be -' a slur one would expect from a person who grew up around Sailors and Shipwrights at the Drydocks. '-no one knows everything. A new set of eyes means new ideas. An extra pair of hands can help as long as they aren't down their pants'"
Nyasha had made an active choice to speak better when she joined the Scions much like her brother, but her brother was still crass in the privacy of childhood friends and times like this Nyasha would let it slip he was.

"You know that more important things will call you away." He kept using those words. More important. "The world will forever be in danger, and you are best suited to tending to such."
Instead of what you might expect, though, there was a bit of actual emotion entering his voice. Anger-- anger? Before his voice calmed again. "I've been told that it's... hard to know what to do with me. Then again, even I am baffled by the words of others. I should seek help, but I should figure out things on my own.
Even those who are eternal are lost so easily in mazes of words."

"People are confusing, they say a lot of things they don't mean, they tell you to figure it out on your own. They get mad when you tell them the truth, but they also get mad when you lie. Like a game of Triple Triad, but for some reason the rules keep changing and no one tells you."
The Xaela picks at the hem of her sleeves. "And then when you want to open up, people get upset. It's hard to open up."
Thats why Nyasha did her radical acceptance of everything, it made life easier.
"To me, it is you, Tate, Vig..." a Viera friend of hers, who often seemed to be getting married then divorced. "Then the world if I had my say. Which I try to."
no subject
"I tell them the truth - but said truth hurts, and they beg me to lie once more. Or pretend I did not bear my heart to them."
It was said more harshly then he thought, but-- he had a little look of surprise on his face, he must admit. "Would that any of us had a say in it. But fate wishes to tie us in with the fate of stars."
A gulp. An admission. "...I recall, I wished to leave the Scions of the Seventh Dawn after returning to the Source. Yet I was refused - told my place was with them."
