Right. You just gotta do what you can with what you have. [she makes a fussy sound, and shifts to nudge at the void a little. It doesn't hurt, so she turns her attention back, for the most part- still watching out of the corner of one eye.] Yeah- she's my little sister.

--Hells. She's mad enough to say a griffins' her sister? [ aww, fordola doesnt get it. however, gently, the tendril... continues to pet at yda, curious--

wow its grooming her a little. ]

I dunno about that! She hasn't seen me since, well. Since before this happened!

[oh. Oh! This is nice, and she relaxes into the touch, her wings stretching and settling.]

The void, though, is building into a shape. A large wolfish being... well, more cat-like. Staring with multiple cat-like eyes, before laying down next to the griffin. ]

…yeah. That was, um. That was a while ago- and I think I've been alright, really!

[oooh. That's unusual- she doesn't know anyone like this, and she sniffs at them curiously- shifting to make space.]

...Can y'turn back, mama? [ she asks, she nuzzles into yda a little more. not noticing the last word she said.

before the voidbeast is sniffed. and it smells like y'shtola. just watching, many eyes blinking. ]

[She stills out of surprise for a moment- and then, a little choked up-]. Of course! Come on, come here. [she shifts back, trying to bring Fordola in to her, nuzzling and chirping, with wiggles and her tail curling. If their new companion smells like Y'shtola- well, she wants to know what that's about, but she's pretty sure they're safe!]

[ And Fordola is gonna dig deeper into her-- mama. Fuck, she said that. ] I think this is-- fuckin' with my mind. [ but she is mostly buried in feathers now, as the voidbeast breaks into a smile. ]

That- it was kinda weird! I mean, nice, but. Do you… want to do something about it? I mean- I don't really know how, but… [she places a paw over Fordola protectively, trying to glance at their new companion.] Do you?

...I dunno, it does feel nice. [ Fordola admits, kneeding into Yda more.

And then the beast talks. Voice seeming to be multiple, but understood. The sort of voice that might rip a soul out of its body - but Y'shtolas' voice is in there. ] It is one of our abilities, yes.

That's good- well! I mean- I could look after you. If you wanted. [she ducks her head to fuss over Fordola a little more, before paying the beast a little more attention. They certainly sound very strange, and her tail twitches uncertainly- but her friend's still there.] Then- if she wanted- we could change that, right?

[ fordola is nesting, like a true griffin kitten.

but the beast is quiet, pondering. ] ...I am the one who changed it in the first place.

[ Fordola puffs up - until the beast continues, beginning to lick and try and groom Yda. ] Not for malicious purposes, mind you - but so that she could become better.

[it's adorable and Yda is trying to keep Fordola close to her, to keep her feeling safe and protected.

She chirps a little, tail and back legs waving, but accepts the grooming without too much fussing.] So that she could- have another chance at growing, you mean?

[ fordola feels safe... letting out little grumbles. ]

...Yes. She could be cared for and give her all for her nation, as she desires. Though I did not think she'd end up seeing you as... such.

...I dunno why I see her as mama, either. Might just be th'being griffins thing, though. [ fordola mumbles, tail swishing, feathers in her mouth. ]

[she rumbles back, soft and happy.]

Well, she's definitely going to be cared for! I dunno- maybe that's part of it, too. There's probably something to both being griffins, too!

I am glad you accept this, Yda. It is a little difficult to give these gifts, when I am unable to take the form of a Spoken.

Well, we're pure blooded Mhigan, aren't we? Though not as mad as th'Mad King, we've still got our pride.

Well- they've helped me a lot, honestly! And… it's nice to actually be a griffin, that's pretty neat! [she leans in to nuzzle, purring a little.]

We are! And- he's a lesson on what to watch out for. But there's nothing wrong with being proud of being us.

[ The beast seems to purr back, eyes all blinking slowly. ] I thought you may enjoy it. We were not aware you lived for quite some time. But the ability to shift is just one gift from the Void.

[ so it is the void. fordola purred more. ] ...There isn't? ...Of course there's not. [ fordola said, after a soft pause. ] Even if I end up back with Garlemald - I'll never let 'em forget who I am.

Well, you were right! I'm… well, I'm glad of that too- I missed you. [she perks up.]. That's possible? Shifting?

...Though exposure to the full moon may lock you as a griffin until the sun hits you. [ Fordola is sort of. Between Ydas' forearms, looking between them. Huh. Her head was still fuzzy. ]

But it won't do that forever! Right? [she leans in to nuzzle Fordola.] I'm gonna try.

It won't. The Void - and Lord Zodiark - are connected to the moon. The moon that remains, not the fallen one.

[ Fordola gives an encouraging yelp, moving away a little. She'll let her mama-- her ally do it first. ] I shall remain, in case it goes wrong.

The Void, huh…. So as long as that moon's in the sky, we're fine, right?
