[ His own body seems to tense up as he feels it, and he takes a few steps back - not noticing his body has shifted to more dragon-esque. A small lick of the air, and he let out a small laugh. ]

I suppose it wasn't! Maybe the ship is going past a tribe of Sahagin? Come to steal my prey, have they?

[ ...haurche did u just. call him prey. ]

[Not only did it feel foggy out, Aymeric's own mind starts to feel slightly hazy. Too much aether?]

Prey...?

[He can't help but lean on the side to steady himself.]

[ Perhaps. But Haurchefant has turned to a frown. ]

Did I say that?

[ He asks, before nodding to himself. ] But is it not right? You are mine to protect, or turn to my cause if I ever decide to!

[ ........are we back to the dragon blood thing gdamnit haurche ]

And I do not have a say in it?

[The aether is getting too much as his breathing is getting much more ragged, a hand on his chest. He's starting to think this fog is supposed to trap him again.]

[ And yet, the Aether fog didn't seem to mess with Haurchefant. Except he was acting more possessive... grinning with sharp teeth. ]

You were the one who came to me. I am doing my duty.

But I am sure a knight not only protects someone physically but also for their own wellbeing.

[He can't help but wonder if going into the chilling water below will help clear his mind of the aether. Do dragons swim?]

...I suppose.

[ ...The burning did seem to be fading a little, though, the fog of Aether breaking. If only a little. ]

But there are reasons I protect you - ones you'd not trust.

[Good for him but Aymeric seems to still be under the effects. But most of all, his chest feels like it's burning more and he doubles over from the discomfort. Probably pain.]

Nnngh-! M-My chest...it feels...!

[ His body also seems to freak out - because his body is feeling an odd burn, all over.

A desire to serve. Is that right...? He seems to panic, placing his hands to his friends' chest... before beginning to claw at Aymerics' clothes. His hands have shifted to claws, you see. If there is an issue, he will fix it.

Even if he may push him to the ground as he works. ]

Wait-!

[He manages to groan that one word out just as he's pushed to the boat's floor, gripping on the dragon's arms weakly. He doesn't know what's going on, just that he screams out Haurchefant's name just as he sees nothing but a white light. Aymeric hasn't exactly blacked out, still being able to hear and slightly see through half lided and dazed eyes, but he's weak at the moment.]

[ His eyes have twisted to even shift to more draconiac, though he does try and pull away. But...

Haurchefant needs to get those clothes off of his ally. Though he doesn't know why, he has to get these clothes off him. Perhaps belowdeck? Nobody seems to get in the way of this half-shifted dragon and his... other person?

He had gotten him down there, into a bed. Into a safe bed. Would he still wake? But what he found worse was... an odd mark on Aymerics' chest, which almost looked like a dragon. Was it simply a birth mark? Haurchefant had never seen him naked like this before. He was attractive. ]

[He can feel the coolness of the air hit his skin, soothing the burning sensation on his chest and beyond. It didn't matter if he's completely exposed to his comrade, what is more concerning is the mark covering most of his upper body. From below Aymeric's collarbone to below his navel, the massive dragon mark glows slightly.]

What...is happening?

[He still aches and his voice is hoarse. But he needs to know...]

A mark.

[ He said, bluntly. He still looked between man and Dragon, but sounded quite scared. ] It... glows. And it smells a little of the Aether outside.

Mark?

[Aymeric slowly sat up, rubbing his chest slowly, trying to soothe the dulling pain.]

...mirror? I need to see...

[ He seems to pause. His body going stiff. He can-- yes, he can leave his side for a moment.

Of course, he's quick. Barely leaving for a few minutes. He returns with a handheld mirror, and a nervous smile. ]

Here.

[Gingerly he takes the object and holds the reflection to his chest, catching the outline of a massive dragon stretching from one end of his body all the way to the beginning of his 'happy trail'. Just...]

What exactly is this?!

I-- I don't know.

[ He really didn't. His own voice trembling a little, his hands ball into fists. ]

Did I-- did I do this?

[He couldn't go accusing when the other just sounded so unsure. One hand presses on where the dragon's head is, hissing slightly at the tender skin there.]

This...was not here before I got on the ship...

[ And Haurchefant moved a clawed hand on top of the hand Aymeric used. ]

...Then... there's only one way it could have happened. Another of my powers?

[He...really had no idea did he?]

I am unaware of all of your abilities so it...is quite possible?

There is one who may know of my powers. Not the one I'm going to visit, no.

The one who revived me. Only he would know if this were one of my powers.

Who was it? We may find out if we find him.

...You know, I never got his name. Too busy watching my life being restored.

[ Said with a bit of bitterness behind his frown. ]

But he was a splendid warrior. Holding weapons of all kinds, and wielding magic of many worlds. If he were still out there, I suppose seeking rumours of powerful beings would help.

[Haurche, he's trying to think positive on this. Stop it.]

He may be out there...and I wish to seek him.

[ He seems ready to protest. Before looking back to the mark, his fingers running over them. ]
