[ It was one of those times where NOAH was still figuring out their way past the Labyrinth of the Ancients, and Nero was still lingering.

Today, though, he had found himself by the side of G'raha, when G'raha was taking a break. Not that Nero had been watching for it, of course not.

With a soft grunt, he flopped down next to him, holding a few of the tomestones that they'd been tasked to decyther. (Nero, honestly, had been asked not to join in this, but. Nero had waited until Rammbroes wasn't paying attention and stolen these ones.) ]

Still- all the better if we don't! So we'll succeed. [a little shoulderbump for Doga and Unei.]

Come closer, then. [ He's beginning to escort them, even as the clones look... uneasy.

It's Unei who finally voices her concern. ] This might be a trap.

[G'raha keeps a steady pace- glancing back at Unei when she speaks.]

Perhaps… I think he was genuine in his hurt for losing… ah, those us that he knew. I'm… well, I'm hopeful.

If you trust him, then so shall I. And Doga.

[ It was soon they arrived at the platform where the Cloud of Darkness lingered, with the door to the Voidgate on the top of Tower connected nearby.

Nero faced the Cloud of Darkness - the being floating there, looking to him. While the twins - and the other royal, who they could not strike - were safe from their desires... there was this Puff. They struggled fruitlessly, to continue to survive. How amusing.

And then, they clashed. The whole place seemed to gleam in a bright void pink, both the Cloud and Nero seeming to vanish.

But everywhere was pink - the power of the Void pulsating. ]

[It's intimidating, but he has his bow ready- arrows nocked and ready to land, wherever he can see an opprtunity. Though- the two disappearing puts rather a crimp in that idea. Are they deep within it…? He'd peer further, but- the pulsing makes him want to stand back, looking for a safe place for the three of them to stand.]

This is… more than I imagined.

[ There does seem to be... something in there. But the taint is spreading, coating everything there. Doga put his arms tightly around Unei, snarling upwards. If he could strike... ]

This isn't normal. I've not studied the Void, but this...

[ He had to pull fabric up to cover his mouth. ]

Two beings of the Void fighting like this… Maybe we should have expected it.

[heeee. has a lot less fabric to work with, this is not good- trying to retreat a little, still looking for an opportunity.]

[ And then, there it is. The Cloud is visible, even if they look so very weakened. Thinking, though, Unei tosses G'raha some fabric. Some of the cloth from Neros' undershirt. ]

[It's going to a very good cause! G'raha stops to tie it around his head- better than nothing- before taking a deep breath and aiming. He doesn't know what'll happen, but- he fires.]

[ And once it's fired? The Cloud dissolves. A moment passes, and the taint seems to dissolve a little.

And down steps the Nero, trembling. Looking injured, but grinning. Something felt different about him, as he began to laugh, stuck on the ground. ]

[He holds a breath, watching- not lowering his bow until the taint starts dissolving.]

Did that do it…?

[Nero's in one piece, at least- if a slightly different one. He steps forward, tail waving.] Nero?

[ Nero was still laughing, trembling, beginning to stand up. He looked up to G'raha, his eyes now a deep purple - a lot like the Void around them. ]

...Do you know what's happened...?

[The same colour… He glances around them, just to check, and nods.]

Well- I think I have an idea. Defeating something with that kind of power… it has to go somewhere, doesn't it…?

It does, doesn't it...?

[ Oh dear, he's grinning more, his body seeming to shift like liquid with every sound. ]

[uhhhhh hahaha. Uh oh. G'raha straightens up more, alert and getting worried.]

So it all transferred to you… [he gestures, a little- he'll stay for the moment, but maybe they should move…] What are you going to do with it?

[ The clones move back - but Doga is ready to rush in. But then... Nero falls again, to the ground. ]

Hold on a little. It's-- It's overwhelming. We wanted this, but...

[ He can feel the entire Void around him. Well, not the entire Void, but so much of it. It's his. ]

Steady-

[he takes another step forward- hesitating a little, but…]

It's more than you imagined?

Far more, child.

[ He says, still laughing. ] Do you know why I came here in the first place? It would be the same for... yours.

[he huffs a little- he's not that young. But- a cautious nod.]

For a discovery- and power, wasn't it…?

The power of Darkness - none thought it possible to control... but look at me. All it took was losing all those I cared about, now didn't it?

I don't think many had thought it possible… or not so much, at least… But I'd hardly call it a fair trade. [even if it is, well. thematically fitting.]

Neither would I, honestly. But... what use are they? What use are you?

[ Oh no. He's got that grin again, magic beginning to flicker at him. ] You were blessed with your Eye from birth. Destined for greatness. Not like me.

[He twitches a little, tail flicking.]

Maybe. But that wouldn't have come to fruition without meeting you, and Doga and Unei… It didn't simply happen. Not getting to this point, either.
