[ It was one of those times where NOAH was still figuring out their way past the Labyrinth of the Ancients, and Nero was still lingering.
Today, though, he had found himself by the side of G'raha, when G'raha was taking a break. Not that Nero had been watching for it, of course not.
With a soft grunt, he flopped down next to him, holding a few of the tomestones that they'd been tasked to decyther. (Nero, honestly, had been asked not to join in this, but. Nero had waited until Rammbroes wasn't paying attention and stolen these ones.) ]

Unfortunately. Imagine- a lifetime of study, and still not being able to crack these!
no subject
[ He says, giving a little grin back. ]
I suppose this proves Garlean superiority.
no subject
So- can you tell me what they say?

no subject
Shame it doesn't tell us what we want to know, though.
[he props his head up on one hand, tail flicking.] Think there's something more helpful in the pile, though?

The power he could harness was beginning to make him ache. The darkness was calling, the Voidgate he dreamed of sometimes. (He didn't know what a Voidgate was, but he dreamed of it. It hurt his head, but... he could control it. He could gain this knowledge, much better then these other Eorzeans.)
And yet, his steps were slow, looking at the Miqo'te with him. This damned Miqo'te - why did he feel like he didn't want to betray him? (He was going to betray them all, so he could find out how to use it. So he could figure it all out...)
Nero stopped, looking back at him. ]
Raha.
no subject
And then there's Nero- staying by his side. It's strange- but G'raha's fine with it. A little less with the implication he should be trying to keep Nero out of trouble- but he'll do what he can, of course.
He stops when Nero does, focusing on him, ears rising.]
… Feeling bold today, are we? [he actually- moves forward, to try and bap Nero lightly on the head. (except Nero is Garlean-height, of course. damnation.)] What's on your mind?
no subject
If I'm Allagan-crafted, Raha... do you think... I knew here?
[ He's scared, honestly. He sounds scared. ]
no subject
Well- it's an Allagan structure. It's possible… Does any of it seem familiar?
[he reaches out for Nero's arm- hoping to be a steadying presence.]

But, Cid had been letting G'raha stay in his room at the Garlond Ironworks. Daily, he'd been both working on devices... and reading up on Allagan clones and other Allagan devices, as he worried for them all. ]
Damnit... they'd need to be eating Voidsent, if anything.
no subject
He sits up, ears swivelling towards Cid.]
I- well I don't think that would be very good for them. Would it? Do Voidsent feed well?
no subject
It wouldn't be. They're not of this world - and in any other situation, I'd say it wasn't something to do - but they're trapped.
Damnit. I've nearly finished the prototype Voidgate - it's small, but if it works we might be able to re-open the one up top.
no subject
Hrrr… Maybe we should've taken supplied with us. But- [ugh. how were there gonna know…?]
So- just a bit more and we can test it?

The bad news was that none of the extra Scaeva-era robots seemed to have room for putting them in - and even if Nero wasn't too great of a guy, none of the Ironworks wanted to be responsible for destroying him.
And so, Cid had rigged up a small box, connecting it to a screen inside the Crystal Tower - this could hold him, at least for now. There was a small microphone for input, and the screen could hold output. However, he didn't know what would appear on the screen until he placed a power source to the box...
Quite suddenly, the screen was filled with text. At first, it seemed to be Allagan text - until a blip, and it switched to Eorzean.
But what was on the screen was a very simple question, from the pile of chips which used to be Nero. ]
I can't see.
Doga? Unei?
[ (The clones were resting from their adventure, elsewhere. They, too, had taint which couldn't be washed off - as did G'raha, even if it wasn't as much.) ]
no subject
Nero! You- ah, wait, can you hear me…? I don't know- I think this is supposed to pick up sound?
[uh. anyway!]
They're fine- they're resting. We're back in Eorzea- out of the Void. [even if they have been affected- they're still themselves. it's manageable.]
no subject
[ The text appears letter by letter - slow, at first, until it seems to speed up as Nero doesn't need to think as slow. ]
So, you saved them, then? Or at least, somebody did. I stopped moving. Tried not to, mind you. But I felt so very tired.
no subject
He watches the increase in the speed of letters with interest- of course Nero would be this quick if he could.]
We did. But- you did a good job of protecting them until then. Thank you.

Nero, of course, was still in his orb-like body. Honestly, he was used to it. But he was beeping excited for G'raha to wake up - the supply package was bigger then usual. Perhaps Cid had gotten something to help?! He was beeping softly, the orb hovering around G'rahas' bed. (Nero, though, had also learned to control other bodies. He just preferred the orb to hover around his... friend? That's what G'raha had called them.) ]
no subject
His ears flicker at the beeping, and he shifts, yawning. It's comfortable- especially when Nero's letting him cuddle up, though Nero's clearly not doing that now.]
Morning… Did the package come already?
[it's good of Cid to do that.]
no subject
He's a good worker. Even if he prefers to study at night. ]
no subject
[He shifts closer, nuzzling against Nero a little.]
Well! Shall we see what's inside it?

Not that he doesn't grump about it. But today - well, it was a bright noon - the automations of the tower seem to be awake and alert. It would be a few hours after him and G'raha got to work studying, until...!! ]
...Raha. You did make sure the Voidgate was deactivated AND unable to be re-opened after your oh-so-brave escape, did you not?
no subject
He makes a little soft sound, tail swishing.]
We did our best from this side! As for the other side- well, I doubted it, but…
[…hm. he still has the book, but between one thing and another, he hasn't tried summoning the Void Nero yet. Did he get impatient? G'raha flicks his attention towards his surroundings, looking for any signs.]
no subject
[ Nerobot doesn't know much about his other self - or that he'd be visiting. Especially since what he sees, though cameras, is simply something trying to rip though the realities... right outside, scratching at the nearest door. ]
Then again, the Voidgate was out in the open. To show all those rebels the true might of Allag, before they died.
no subject
So we should assume this is something else? [let's see- he fumbles for the book, setting it close to hand.] Want to have a look now?
