[ It was one of those times where NOAH was still figuring out their way past the Labyrinth of the Ancients, and Nero was still lingering.

Today, though, he had found himself by the side of G'raha, when G'raha was taking a break. Not that Nero had been watching for it, of course not.

With a soft grunt, he flopped down next to him, holding a few of the tomestones that they'd been tasked to decyther. (Nero, honestly, had been asked not to join in this, but. Nero had waited until Rammbroes wasn't paying attention and stolen these ones.) ]

[ The screen goes dull. For a moment, there seems to be nothing.

And then, the beeps return. He did it. Nero takes a moment, before... text appears again, slightly shaky in the sounds it makes. ]

...I really don't like him.

[haaah… haha. G'raha manages a small laugh.]

Neither do I. I hope… it was never in any doubt I'd sooner have you around.

…so this means you're in the Tower proper now?

He claimed to be Amon, no? Perhaps we can find him a fitting body to interrogate - I've quite a few things I'd like to tell him.

...And... I suppose it does. But am I in it, or part of it? I don't know.

Effectively, yes… [he hums.] I'd like to know more of what he knows- without the threat of something I don't want. The trouble is- well, we couldn't find one of the Scaeva models with a place those chips fit… thus the setup we have here. But we were going to need to solve that in any case.

[another hum, and he closes his eyes.] We should work that out, at some point. To know, at least…

...Hm. According to what I can feel, while it's not a Scaeva model, there should be a spare storage machine nearby.

But I'd like to know as well. While this is amazing - and it is - I don't want to become the Tower itself. Simply understand it.

That should do… What kind of machine are we talking about? …I suppose we should let the others know this happened, too…

Mm… It's incredible. To last this long, through Calamities… And still functioning! But- yes, I think that would be better, really. [he would definitely like to see Nero embodied again.]

You've seen automated droids before, haven't you? The orbs. Inside, they're pretty interchangable.

And I miss my voice. But I'll call for them - I'm pretty well connected to this system. Cover your ears?

[ Because after a little of showing the message, there's suddenly a loud beep - he's set off an alarm. After all, this is a safe room - Nero, please. Soon, he adds: ]

I like it. It's almost like immortality, in a way - hah, if I didn't know better, I'd say I was made of the same stuff as the Tower.

Oh- those! Yes, of course…

Ah? [but he does cover his ears- and good thing, that is loud. Well, it's the easiest way of getting attention, he's sure.]

Mm… It'd be very hard to take you down. [he tilts his head] In your own body, too…?

I only broke down because I ran out of power. Believe it or not, the Void doesn't have lunar energy.

[ But he's sort of... behind the alarm sounds, Nero is letting out another purring beep. Congrats, G'raha. You have a purring source of hope for the future. ]

You should have seen how I battled. I'm sure those twins will be willing to share - it was fun, when I wasn't growing more and more tired.

Haha- I must admit, I didn't see anything that looked like it would provide that energy.

[they're still loud! but that is nice- getting a little rumbling from him in return.]

Mm, I would've liked to have seen it. I'll ask, when they're awake. [a little grin.] So- better fighting here, then, would you say?

If there is a lack of energy, I doubt that this entire beauty will be fully working. Perhaps later, we can figure out how to fix it.

Sleep is still over-rated. But I suppose it's just another flaw in Spoken.

[ He's joking - and then the door slams open, with Cid and the rest of the crew. Cid speaks up, his voice worried. ]

What's going on--?!

Well- we might not be able to get it to the levels it had with Dalamud, but there must be something… It'd be a shame otherwise.

[he snorts.] Well- all the same-

[WHOOPS G'raha jumps- and then pinches his nose. Yeah, he probably should have expected this.]

Er- we were trying to get some of the droids. I think the call could use some fine-tuning…

[he's definitely going to want a nap sometime soon.]

[ Yes there is laughter filling the screen now, as the alarms stop - but not the purring-like sounds. ]

It was bloody loud enough to hear from Mor Dhona. [ he. he expects. he was still in here. But, a pause. ] Did you get Nero working?

[Thank you, Nero. He makes a little purr back- but he's still kind of embarrassed, so it's not much more.]

That far? I didn't think… it would reach outside the Tower. [he glances back at the screen, though- and nods.] He's fine. He's- ah, he's in the Tower, actually.

...What.

[ That's all Cid feels he needs to say. ]

… Well. the Tower seems to be- all interconnected? It's- fine. Probably.

[maybe.]

It's Nero. We can't trust him. Even after--

[ But as Cid tries to say more, Nero makes the lights flicker again, playfully. Cid is fully on-edge now, but Nero either doesn't notice or doesn't care. ]

[he's placing his bet on doesn't care- tail flicking at the change in lights.]

-Nero, please. [he sighs.] He seems very excited about it- though I think he'd be happy enough getting back into a body, too. [and- it could be worse. but he doesn't know if it's a good idea to talk about that Neo.]

[ As G'raha sighs, though, Nero seems to behave. (He's wanting to suck up to him a little.) ]

Well, I've got good news and bad news. We found some debug orbs which could fit him... but they're still pretty complex. It might take moons for us to reverse engineer them - and even if I'd like otherwise, I have other work to do.

[ And then text appears on the screen - Cid noticing, and rolling his eyes. ]

A pity Allag didn't keep manuals, isn't it? Quite a lot like our esteemed engineer here.

[Well, if it works, he'll take it. (Though that'll be embarrassing when he realises.)]

And that's important too… Right. [to the Ironworks, to other people… hrm.] And I don't know enough about these devices- but I could learn, couldn't I?

Hah… [he smiles at Cid a little awkwardly.] You haven't found anything?

No - most of the manuals here, so far, are either general maintinence or 'to be added'. How very frustrating it is. Perhaps there's paper backups, but I can't seem to find where those'd be right now.

...Nero's... talking though the screen. [ Cid then states, before shaking his head. ] You're a smart kid, G'raha. I'm sure you could figure it out - you want to figure out this tower, don't you?

Tch. Maybe they thought they knew so well where everything was it didn't need to be shared…? We'll keep looking.

Yes! It's working pretty well, all told. [and he nods, firmly] I do. To use what's held here to help people- to share hope with them.

Well, Allag was known for arrogance. But they did conquer death and all others - except for the very nature of the world, of course. [ nero no ]

How about staying here and learning? I'm sure I can get some basic books for you...

Which was very impressive- just also of concern. [it's a thing.

He perks up, tail waving.] I'd like that! Thank you, Cid.

Think I can leave you with him? [ He says, looking to the screen. ] I've got to tell the others it was a false alarm.

[ But Nero begins to hum-purr again, thinking. He's looking for a nice room for G'raha, but... hm, there does seem to be personal quarters. ]
