[ It was one of those times where NOAH was still figuring out their way past the Labyrinth of the Ancients, and Nero was still lingering.
Today, though, he had found himself by the side of G'raha, when G'raha was taking a break. Not that Nero had been watching for it, of course not.
With a soft grunt, he flopped down next to him, holding a few of the tomestones that they'd been tasked to decyther. (Nero, honestly, had been asked not to join in this, but. Nero had waited until Rammbroes wasn't paying attention and stolen these ones.) ]
...You're all struggling with these?

That's right. And the room we're going to? The stairs to it are well hidden. When I was looking at the maps, I couldn't find them.
no subject
[he stops near the flickering lights.] Is this the one we want?

[ The door opens, and once G'raha is in, the door closes. And then he finally answers that question. ] I couldn't quite understand the Allagan - but if it's this guarded, it must be.

Please. You're royal now, raha. If anything, you should use your position.

So this is what it feels like…? I suppose so- but I'm not sure what to do with it. Beyond- mm, I could claim a few rooms, couldn't I?
no subject
Servants. [ the voice seems to quiet to a rumble at that. right, hes an automation. what does that mean for him...? ]
no subject
Servants…? [he rumbles a little- holding closer.] I don't know- I wonder what that would be like, but having people like that…
no subject
[ But he's rumbling softly, rotations stopping. Nero is uncomfortable with this. ] It's just how it goes. An emperor has servants - did you truly believe you could run all of this alone?
no subject
[he rubs the orb, peering down with concern.]
I didn't think I was going to run an empire- just the Tower. Which- I doubt it's a one-person job, but I don't think I'd have servants. You wouldn't- want that kind of job, right?
no subject
[ He's beeping softly. It's not his problem anymore. But then, he stops. The elevator is slowing to a stop as well, but there almost seems to be a gaze from the robot. If it had eyes. ] ...Even running the Tower is a large job, raha. Even with me inside. [ But he doesn't answer the next bit. ]
no subject
[there does! he looks back, gaze steady.] Mm… I thought that might be the case. Though you're a huge help, of course. It'll be a challenge, to keep and maintain it… even before trying to expand what we can do. But- there must be other people interested, who we could employ…
no subject
[ But the doors slide open, Nero letting out little beepy sigh. ] Of course, I'll be yours. Why not?
no subject
Thank you. [he rumbles, a little, stepping out.] Let's see… It's not far, I hope?
no subject
[ The hall itself is short... but very fancy, with the softest rugs and a large door. Almost like... well. This has to be somewhere fancy. There's no cameras here, either. ]
no subject
[he whistles, just- standing on a rug for a moment. He'll have to take his boots off later, and see how they feel…]
It's very fancy here. For someone very important… I know I have the bloodline, but this is still a lot.
[and that's very nice- whoever got this spot clearly liked their privacy.]
no subject
[ Of course, when they get to the ornate door, and open it...
...It's thankfully a bedroom, but seems to be larger then any bedroom anybody would need. It's Nero who voices the next concern... ]
I... think this is Lord Xandes' room.
no subject
…well. We know he's not likely to come in, don't we?
[he ventures in a little further, looking around.]
…this is so much room, though. [what would he do with it all?]
no subject
[ Is it his programming? He hopes not. Nero hates his programming. But he is staring, the orb finally slightly leaving G'rahas' arms. And then, Nero lets it slip. ]
This is bloody bigger then my childhood house! And we had at least five crammed in there!
no subject
[he makes another startled sound, shifting forwards.]
Five- siblings? I never knew… It is a bit excessive. There's space, and then some…
no subject
[ A beat. ]
Yes, I came from a farm. You may laugh.
no subject
[he shakes his head, tail flicking.]
No- I was thinking- it must have been a long path. And now… well. [he gestures at the room.] We're here.
no subject
[ Said so casually, as he sort of... is still hovering around, amazed. Trying to take it in - not just the size but this is also... pure Allagan history, preserved perfectly. The scientist and historian alike in him is just considering the possibilities. ]
There's something I've always believed, raha. There's no worth to life if you've not earned it.
no subject
It's incredible! As G'raha squats to start taking his boots off- he's. a little tired to start on that.]
Mm… Make the path, and make it your own? It's fair enough.
no subject
[ If Nero could feel tired, he would be - but he did have that feeling of wanting to rest. Though the two of them didn't know it, the electronics in the tower had dimmed, and Nero had begun to waver a little in his hovering. ]
...You get it. And yet, Garlond got his beginning due to his father - his famous father. Midas.
