[ It was one of those times where NOAH was still figuring out their way past the Labyrinth of the Ancients, and Nero was still lingering.

Today, though, he had found himself by the side of G'raha, when G'raha was taking a break. Not that Nero had been watching for it, of course not.

With a soft grunt, he flopped down next to him, holding a few of the tomestones that they'd been tasked to decyther. (Nero, honestly, had been asked not to join in this, but. Nero had waited until Rammbroes wasn't paying attention and stolen these ones.) ]

Especially this deep into the Tower. [he settles back, attention of the elevator.] Well- I doubt anyone's there now to give us grief over it, but I do wonder…

[ And Nero seems so relaxed, as it moves. Well, as relaxed as the annoying orb can be, slightly rotating. ]

[it's odd to feel! He assumes Nero's looking around, probably- adjusting his hold a little as he needs to.]

I didn't think I was going to run an empire- just the Tower. Which- I doubt it's a one-person job, but I don't think I'd have servants. You wouldn't- want that kind of job, right?

Yes. I wonder who'll replace him? There's quite the political fight.

[ He's beeping softly. It's not his problem anymore. But then, he stops. The elevator is slowing to a stop as well, but there almost seems to be a gaze from the robot. If it had eyes. ] ...Even running the Tower is a large job, raha. Even with me inside. [ But he doesn't answer the next bit. ]

I suppose we'll find out, one way or another.

[there does! he looks back, gaze steady.] Mm… I thought that might be the case. Though you're a huge help, of course. It'll be a challenge, to keep and maintain it… even before trying to expand what we can do. But- there must be other people interested, who we could employ…

Please, with what gil. You're... I don't know what you do for a day job, but I'm on the run from Garlemald, if you weren't aware.

[ But the doors slide open, Nero letting out little beepy sigh. ] Of course, I'll be yours. Why not?

Hah, it makes me wonder how Garlond makes so much. Look at him! And no, it's not far - just at the end of this hall.

[ The hall itself is short... but very fancy, with the softest rugs and a large door. Almost like... well. This has to be somewhere fancy. There's no cameras here, either. ]

[he makes a sound that's some mix of astonishment and a little alarm, stopping to stare. Though-]

…well. We know he's not likely to come in, don't we?

[he ventures in a little further, looking around.]

…this is so much room, though. [what would he do with it all?]

Lord Xande is dead-- I sort of wish I didn't call him Lord, but it feels right.

[ Is it his programming? He hopes not. Nero hates his programming. But he is staring, the orb finally slightly leaving G'rahas' arms. And then, Nero lets it slip. ]

This is bloody bigger then my childhood house! And we had at least five crammed in there!

Mm… Perhaps it will change, given time.

[he makes another startled sound, shifting forwards.]

Five- siblings? I never knew… It is a bit excessive. There's space, and then some…

No, my parents-- caretakers, as well. Enough to help keep the farm running.

[ A beat. ]

[he shakes his head, tail flicking.]

...I do. They never rose as high as me, mind. I think they're still back home - that is, if the empire hasn't executed them for being siblings of a traitor.

[ Said so casually, as he sort of... is still hovering around, amazed. Trying to take it in - not just the size but this is also... pure Allagan history, preserved perfectly. The scientist and historian alike in him is just considering the possibilities. ]

There's something I've always believed, raha. There's no worth to life if you've not earned it.

Oh… I see. [G'raha looks alarmed, on the other hand.] Just for being related to you? I hope not. [they're family!

It's incredible! As G'raha squats to start taking his boots off- he's. a little tired to start on that.]

[ If Nero could feel tired, he would be - but he did have that feeling of wanting to rest. Though the two of them didn't know it, the electronics in the tower had dimmed, and Nero had begun to waver a little in his hovering. ]

He stands again and reaches out for Nero- to support him, for now.]

[ Yes, this is nice - Nero is... okay that is clearly nuzzling. ]

...You came from a line with Allagan blood. But I imagine you'd be very different if you'd just been given answers about it.

[nuzzling, and he goes to flop on the bed.]

Hmm… I suppose you're right. This has turned out well enough so far, so- I think I'm in favour of it, after all.
