[ It was one of those times where NOAH was still figuring out their way past the Labyrinth of the Ancients, and Nero was still lingering.
Today, though, he had found himself by the side of G'raha, when G'raha was taking a break. Not that Nero had been watching for it, of course not.
With a soft grunt, he flopped down next to him, holding a few of the tomestones that they'd been tasked to decyther. (Nero, honestly, had been asked not to join in this, but. Nero had waited until Rammbroes wasn't paying attention and stolen these ones.) ]
...You're all struggling with these?

Good for us, then. What kind of sleepers are we talking about?
no subject
Nero puts his hand to G'raha, to lead him onwards. ]
You have been training, haven't you?
no subject
[he nods, following.]
Of course! Even if I'm here mainly for the research- I did want to help in other ways.
no subject
[ He doesn't know how he knows this much, and it frightens him. ]
Good boy. Even with our charms, some people would rather take us down. Lucky we don't need to kill Xande, isn't it? [ a pause ] I wonder if I could raise a blade to him.
no subject
He perks up a little, tail waving.]
Hah- whatever comes, we'll take care of it! [and a hum, as he tilts his head.] You think- there's some manner of loyalty, there?
no subject
[ A pause. Should he... ask to be put down if he fights back? No, he thought it was implied. ]
Not just to... gather power. Even if it was said to be involved with Dalamud, it was also where Allag ruled from. I wonder if it was due to Silvertear Lake - after all, Allag conquered even dragons.
no subject
[something in his stomach coils at the thought. God…]
It could be. Silvertear Lake's been regarded as the centre of the world for more than one reason.
no subject
I'd say the same for Silvertear, mind you.
no subject
Both can be rather… destructive, though. [he pauses, looking at Nero, and the doorway.] Something we should stay away from?
Oh- really?
no subject
...because it's where he's meant to be. It's a room full of deactivated robots, in various states of completion - the machines being jammed up from the paused and resumed time. (Amon was more concerned with the living being frozen properly.) But by the few complete, it was clear...
This was where Scaeva were made. ]
no subject
Shite. They're all… is this where they were made? [it looks like it- a few complete robots, a lot more incomplete… He glances at Nero.]
Nero? Are you feeling all right?
no subject
He slightly turned to G'raha, though - his body oddly serene. When he talks, though, there's none of that Nero snarkiness. ] It's proof. I am fine.
[ he is not fine he is terrified his brain feels like it's shutting down he can feel his fingers trembling and wanting to... work? ]
no subject
[he reaches out- trying to close his hand around Nero's wrist.]
Come on. There's- more to see, isn't there? They'll still be here when we reach the top.
no subject
Before he laughed. Even his laugh felt wrong. ]
I wonder how I escaped this fate? Did Emperor Xande have a favorite, hm?
no subject
I don't know. I'd think- you were outside, at the time- so perhaps not. But- Nero, come on…
[he wants to go this is unpleasant]
no subject
The robot steps more into the room, expression grim. ]
Many of these are nonviable for repair. However, parts may be salvaged to create more Scaeva-model repair bots, without imperfections.
no subject
He steps forward- leaning in to look at Nero.]
Okay. So we take some bits of these for help fix up your scratches and then get out of here.
no subject
And then something seems to click in his mind, and-- ] Raha. [ It was G'raha here, right. He was simply being embarrassing. (Well, it made sense.)
He looked back to the... the Scaeva, closing his eyes. (It seemed his third eye also dimmed as he did, though.) ] We'll need to... there's still some who weren't connected. Gods, this is...
no subject
It's disturbing.
…point out one or two to me. We'll drag them out.
no subject
[ He's trying to hide his fear again, though, his voice still wavering and sounding more robotic. But he does simply point to some nearby - some which are still fleshless, still looking only half-built. And then, he lets out a scoff. ] I wonder if I'll be able to re-use my... coverings?
no subject
Coverings- you mean-? [he gestures to his own arms, before going to try and start lugging one of the robots out.]
no subject
But he's made it, moving to help lug another of the robots out. Is this how he feels, Nero wonders. There's no power source inside them, it's fine. It's just a... dead him. ] I won't stand anything low-quality to replace it.
no subject
[G'raha stares at the robot bodies- and shivers, a little. It's still strange, to look at these uninhabited creations.] Well- we might be able to make something, or find a good replacement in time. But this'll do for now, won't it?
no subject
As they leave the room with some robots, the wall slams down - like it was never open. ]
no subject
[good? bad? they'll find out.
G'raha startles when the wall crashes down- turning to see that it's gone.] …well. That's one way of dealing with that…
