[ It was one of those times where NOAH was still figuring out their way past the Labyrinth of the Ancients, and Nero was still lingering.

Today, though, he had found himself by the side of G'raha, when G'raha was taking a break. Not that Nero had been watching for it, of course not.

With a soft grunt, he flopped down next to him, holding a few of the tomestones that they'd been tasked to decyther. (Nero, honestly, had been asked not to join in this, but. Nero had waited until Rammbroes wasn't paying attention and stolen these ones.) ]

...You're all struggling with these?

[He makes a startled noise, pulling his hand back, ears pressing back. This feels wrong- so wrong…]

I don't know. I'd think- you were outside, at the time- so perhaps not. But- Nero, come on…

[he wants to go this is unpleasant]

[ Nero is screaming inside, as his body remains steady. If he could show any emotion, he would show this... but, no.

The robot steps more into the room, expression grim. ]

Many of these are nonviable for repair. However, parts may be salvaged to create more Scaeva-model repair bots, without imperfections.

[oh god he can't get any impression off Nero at all and he's starting to freak out, tail flicking, fluffed out. He doesn't want to go in there- but he doesn't want Nero going any further either, if he's honest.

He steps forward- leaning in to look at Nero.]

Okay. So we take some bits of these for help fix up your scratches and then get out of here.

[ Nero turns to look at him for a moment.

And then something seems to click in his mind, and-- ] Raha. [ It was G'raha here, right. He was simply being embarrassing. (Well, it made sense.)

He looked back to the... the Scaeva, closing his eyes. (It seemed his third eye also dimmed as he did, though.) ] We'll need to... there's still some who weren't connected. Gods, this is...

Nero? [okay he's- sounding better. Somewhat. G'raha's stance eases, and he looks to the robots as well.]

It's disturbing.

…point out one or two to me. We'll drag them out.

Disturbing is the least of it. They're not biological, at the very least.

[ He's trying to hide his fear again, though, his voice still wavering and sounding more robotic. But he does simply point to some nearby - some which are still fleshless, still looking only half-built. And then, he lets out a scoff. ] I wonder if I'll be able to re-use my... coverings?

[aneyeonthepast]

… Haaaah. Yes, that's- that is something. [and let's stop thinking about that right now.]

Coverings- you mean-? [he gestures to his own arms, before going to try and start lugging one of the robots out.]

Yes. Of course it's not flesh. [ Nero says - trying to move to help. But his legs still feel like they're having trouble moving.

But he's made it, moving to help lug another of the robots out. Is this how he feels, Nero wonders. There's no power source inside them, it's fine. It's just a... dead him. ] I won't stand anything low-quality to replace it.

[aneyeonthepast]

Well- that's good.

[G'raha stares at the robot bodies- and shivers, a little. It's still strange, to look at these uninhabited creations.] Well- we might be able to make something, or find a good replacement in time. But this'll do for now, won't it?

It will. Hah... imagine the look on Garlonds' face once he sees these? [ focus on that. focus on hatred and on getting the power of the void and not on the body nero is feeling isn't his is trying to move on its own

As they leave the room with some robots, the wall slams down - like it was never open. ]

[aneyeonthepast]

That'll be something to see, all right.

[good? bad? they'll find out.

G'raha startles when the wall crashes down- turning to see that it's gone.] …well. That's one way of dealing with that…

[ His voice seems to go almost monotone again, as Nero struggles to fight it. ]

For the convenience of work, these rooms close when there's no organics within. Else we might get them trying to slack off.

[aneyeonthepast]

[yikes. he steps a little closer, elbow against Nero.]

Hah… I think having the door slam down like that would frighten me out of any slacking I'd been planning on.

Should we take them further up, or no?

[ Nero seems to be staring a little more then would be usual, but then he nods. ]

You fine with carrying that, or... we could use them here.

[ nero no - but his third eye goes dull again for a moment ]

There's a break room close - upstairs, but not by much.

[he puts it down to everything they've just seen, patting Nero's elbow a little.]

Upstairs?

[…he's an archer, so that's not great- but he'd rather be as far away from this room as possible.]

Well- let's see what we can do there.

[ Nero - without words - suddenly went to pick both of the robots up. He seemed to carry them so easily... ]

There might still be patrols here. Don't want you to get decommissioned.

[aneyeonthepast]

[damn!! he's impressed. and feeling a little outclasses, but he nods all the same.]

Haha… Of course not. I appreciate that! I'll take point, then- though you'll need to tell me which way that room is.

[ As he walks - slowly, these are heavy - Nero can't help but talk. ]

When I close my eye, I see... a map of here. But it's around... two doors forward, there's stairs. At the top of those stairs.

[aneyeonthepast]

[he stays ahead, eyes out for any disturbances, but keeps looking back to make sure he doesn't go too far ahead.]

A map… That's a huge help. Two doors- all right. [he looks ahead, and nods.] They don't go for too long, I hope.

Hah - of course it's a help. It's me. [ look he's got some ego back. ] But, no. Only a few rooms making different robots, for transfer to Alyz Lla.

...Wherever that is.

[aneyeonthepast]

Of course. [he probably shouldn't actually encourage that, but- it is an improvement.] Different models?

We should find out! After we're done here.

That's what it reads like to me.

[ As they get to the stairs, though, Nero narrows his eyes. ] You promise? It'd be lonely looking alone.

[aneyeonthepast]

I wonder what kinds… Perhaps we'll look another time.

[G'raha startles for a moment- then nods.] I promise. I've spent… enough time looking for information on my own. Besides- we'll make it further together, don't you think?

[betterthangarlond]

[ Nero then grins. ] We'll work on these, then - if our heroes aren't close to Xande, we'll go back.

[ he looks so very soft as he says it, though - different then expected from Nero. ] You can follow instructions, right? I can't work on myself.

[aneyeonthepast]

Mm! Those automatons aren't about to go anywhere.

[he takes a moment to process- and then nods firmly.] Of course! I'd be pleased to. [that's- hah, gods, that's pretty intimate, isn't it? Of course he'd be.]
