One of the last gifts of the Princess, before Allag fell, from what I recall. But they-- they sacrificed themselves, so that the Cloud of Darkness could not act out their covernant until the Voidgate was sealed.

...Of course, I was sealed on the other side. And by the time I got free? You'd made your choice.

The Princess…? Well- I suppose it would be within her abilities to do that…

[he runs a hand down his face. there's still a piece missing, he's sure… why did he make that choice…]

Can we do something about that now? Before we… go in?

You're lucky you summoned a fragment of the Cloud, aren't you? A Puff. But if there was something to be done?

I don't know. It was to be unbreakable. But I suppose everything can be broken.

Summoned a- a Puff- which is you?

… We should find a way. Because that… I don't want to accept it. [he glances at Cid, ears flicking.] Do we have the time, though?

We'll need to have time, damnit. We need to find a power source strong enough - the one powering this is barely enough to contain this... thing.

[ Cid is frustrated okay. ]

...I don't know. I mean, either way, the three stranded there are going to die.

[G'raha nods- but his tail is flicking all over.]

A power source… I'll help. Whatever you need me to find-

[but he's worried, too.]

No- we can't just leave them like that! [Doga and Unei more, as… well, the more delicate ones, but…] What if I went through?

...You'd go? Now? [ He sounds amused. ] I suppose this portal does fit one - but then again, you'd likely die.

Though the Cloud can't touch you or them? The other Voidsent aren't so friendly.

If something needs to be done- then something should be done. And I'm- here, and if I can help…

[he looks worried- but nods, reaching for his bow again.]

… I'll have to try to hold out as best I can. And- you'll help, won't you?

[ Cid shakes his head a little - but he gives a serious look. ]

G'raha - if you're not going to back down, at least take some supplies. [ He knows neither of them are the sort to be talked out of something.

But really, the void Nero is very confused about this - but he reaches a tendril out to him. ] I can't get too close - don't want to be absorbed by the Cloud. That'd be awful.

Right. [he nods, already turning to think- what have they got, what can he take with him- how much.

He reaches out in return, nodding.]

Well- we'd better avoid that, then. I'll still be counting on you to help me find them. [he doesn't know what the layout of the Void is like, after all.]

...You might not end up the same way you were when you entered. [ He warns, though - as Cid hands them some supplies. Survival supplies, for at least a week...

And then, he places a hand to G'raha. ] We'll continue working on opening the Voidgate from this end.

From the sound of it- that might be the case either way. [It's fine. He'll manage, somehow- as long as they find the others, something'll work out.

He reaches for Cid's hand in turn, and nods.] Thank you. I know you'll do your best. I'll be seeing you soon!

[ And so, they enter the Void... and inside, the beast who had engulfed G'raha looks quite different.

...Familiar, even. Even if his body seems to still distort with Void powers, even if he looks a lot shorter... and even if he's in full armour, made of flesh. The area they enter is simply a small platform, but the creature is quiet. A laugh seems to come from below the armour. ]

Welcome to our domain.

[what the hell!! G'raha stares at his companion for several moments- oh geez that armour sure is something. That's… surely not? But…]

… You said you were trapped on the other side of the Voidgate. Is this… [what happened?

But he looks out, tail flicking.]

This is the Void…?

Consumed by it, in another time, far away.

[ He'd need to explain this, but it felt better without Cid there. ] I'm not going to claim I know everything. But I'm not yours. There's multiple Eorzea, at different times. And the Void?

It connects them all.

… I see. But… a time similar enough to here.

[…he can take on explaining-to-Cid duties, it's fine.] No, I didn't think so… [considering. Still- he's trusting this Nero enough, here.] Multiple Eorzeas…? It's incredible to think about…

It reaches between them? Then- we'd still be able to find our way back home, right?

It is quite interesting. In the realm I tend to linger close to, they come together - even allowing multiples of the same being. [ But he sounds a little... frustrated? But he nods. ]

You'll be able to go home. Maybe you'll figure out why you abandon everybody? [ But he seems to be walking on nothing - wait, there's a glimmer of a path. ]

Multiples? [G'raha sounds incredulous- but then, he's seen two Neros already, now…] Then- there could be dozens of us there?

Ah… Well that's good news. [he frowns.] I believe I will. And then… I'll decide what to do. [ah, but he's moving- G'raha hurries to keep up, sparing a look to the path. Probably a bad idea in retrospect, as he gulps and looks ahead.]

[ The Voidbeast nearby seem to be shying away from the Lalafell, though, as he moves so swiftly... but slows down a little.

He's going to lose him again, he knows it. ]

Every part of the Void is... hard to break though. But there could be, yes. [ A beat. ] You can't save everybody, G'raha. It's better to only worry for your own. [ is he... giving advice? why ] You're only the second of you I've met - and I was a native of that world.

[another good reason to stay close.]

Like natural barriers? Hah… That's something to think about. [he nods.] Well- that's what I want to achieve, after all… [though he's getting a little concerned for this Nero, too.] …huh. But- you don't feel you are now?

...I don't. Why should I? I died here, and died again there. I'm more Puff of Darkness then Nero tol Scaeva.

Besides. Gives me something over those others who claim to be me.

[ ............nero no. But he pauses, and looks over. ]

If it's when I think it is, that shelter there. It's where they'd be. Not many Voidsent notice there's an opening, you see - and those who do can be taken out by whoever's awake at the time.

Twice over…? [he nods- makes a little bit of a face. They're all Neros, aren't they? Just… doubles.]

It certainly differentiates you from them.

[he looks that way as well.]

A perfect hideaway. So- we'll need to approach without drawing too much attention… and not seeming like foes ourselves, of course.

Are you saying I'm not a threat? I am a Lord of the Void.

[ But he's creating a path of Void energy, as he shrugs. ] I was killed in the Void, and then revived... even if I didn't know it at the time. [ listen he thought he'd just passed out for a bit ] And then killed by being devoured by a secondary Ultima Weapon, after it was revived. Thought I was food, and Garlond too. He's turned to some sort of... living slime.

I mean not a threat to them.

[he hisses, a long sound.] Revived? Here? I couldn't imagine… that not leaving marks. […weird. oh nero. But he startles at that, tail flicking out behind him.] You- devoured? That's… but you made it out? But a slime- truly?

They'd still see me as one. They've got theirs, and I don't have them.

[ But he nods, a little grimly. ] Home isn't how it used to be. He's quite all right - he's not dead. [ But Nero feels like it's his fault.

As they approach the hidden base, though, Nero seems to slow down a little. His body seems to be distorting more. ]
