The Sons were still waiting for the Sands, and it was night. Nero had left them - his deep glow had kept them awake before, and he could protect them. Ripping apart Gigas and luring away elementals.

Holding himself tall, Nero had just finished off another Gigas, their blood fresh on one of the floating hands around him. (Why bother fixing his own hands when these could be installed? Garlemald had done this, and Nero enjoyed that Cid had given him new hands.)

But even from the light red glow from his body, Nero could sense more movement. In a moment, he had rushed over--

--and moved to pin the one who'd appeared, eyes narrowed. This wasn't another common monster. ]

Nero closed his eyes, before gesturing a little with one of his hands. ] Would you... rather sit? I don't know your power source, and your legs might... [ awkward nero is awkward

but then, he snorts. ] You look strong enough for that - then again, wouldn't it be worrying? You could learn things people don't want you to remember.

All right. The airships are very nice, though! [even if, you know. There's the danger of being shot down.

G'raha blinks at him for a moment, and then offers him a smile.] I wouldn't mind!

I appreciate that! [he preens a little.] Some of those books are huge- nothing I can't handle, of course! Haha. I don't think most of them have thought about that. [and G'raha puts effort into looking Too Pure For That. It's handy!]

Aren't they just? [ Nero does sit, stretching a little. ] Why, those airships could pierce the skies and could even go further then Dalamud, if Garlond wanted.

[ But he's beaming a little. ] Really now. And here I thought Sharlayan was full of scholars. After all, that's why they came and actually asked for peace.

Further-! Hah, I'd love to see that. Could we convince him of it, do you think?

There's fighting that happens, but it's all academic. [and basically just a nuisance, as far as he's concerned.] Hrff. They're not very fond of being involved.

...He's more interested in helping others then advancing knowledge. [ Hah. Nero can't help but smile, though, looking upwards. ] He's too damn idealistic. Treating me like...

[ ...Like a person, he doesn't say. ]

Hm. That doesn't seem like such a bad thing, to be honest… [He puts his hands behind his head, glancing at Nero. Huh.] … Like you'd want to have been treaten?

It's... different, that's for sure.
But what's the point of improving lives when you don't make progress? They'll grow lazy and dependent. [ ...Huh. The way he says that, it sounds a little like Amon... nah. ]

[G'raha rolls his head towards Nero, ears picking up in interest. He wonders… but probably not.]

There's certainly no point in not making progress! They've got to take some steps themselves, though.

And yet, Garlond supplies anybody who asks with his Magitek - he's even offered to loan me out sometimes. Reckless, if you ask me.

[ Nero casually rolled his eyes, stretching - using his own arms! They look pretty fragile, but... ]

If it were up to me, they'd be taught. Not simply gifted.

[he's sure they're more than they look! Part of being what they are, after all.]

Hm. It's a different sort of control, isn't it? You don't know exactly what people might do with the information.

To defend Eorzea, he says. But, really... what's the use defending it? Everything dies eventually, even if you try otherwise.

[ Whoops he's trembling a lil, his voice is shaky. And Nero hasn't noticed that he's now slipped back to speaking Allagan. ]

...it would have been a learning experience. Back then, the Tower was still hidden.

Still- they haven't- well there was Meteor, but can we count that? The Battle of Silvertear Skies? - You were there? [His ears twitch in interest- and he slips into Allagan as well, wondering. Waiting to see how Nero will react, as G'raha watches him.]

I'd think so- the old records would have been- oh, from Meracydia, I'd imagine? For similar fights.

Not just there. I was deployed from the Agrius - ah, the ship ensnared over there.

[ He seems to raise an eyebrow - huh, usually he's not replied to like this. It's almost calming, as he softly lets out a long beep. ]

They would have been, yes. But I-- never had them. Not inside me. All I did was fight like I'd been taught to.

[That reaction sounds good to G'raha, so he'll keep on in Allagan.]

Yes, in Garlemald. I was unearthed to fight, and trained on quite a lot of machines and men both. They called me Theta Weapon.

[ Isn't that name familiar? ] You'd-- find them? Why?

Ah… [he makes a little sound, but then- that name catches his attention.] Theta Weapon…? I- knew of one by that name, in the time of Allag.

[weird. He shrugs a little!] I thought- if you'd like them I could get them.

...Huh.
[ Nero lets out a little bweep. ] It's not one Garlemald found - and in the tomestones Garlond's gotten me to decrypt, either. What was your Theta like?

Huh. It was still in development, I think… [as far as he remembers, anyhow.] Young! Inquisitive. A little puzzled by people. I thought it was nice.

Perhaps it wasn't finished before Allag fell. There's got to be prototypes around. [ He slightly tilts his head. ] Then again, why would an automation be made acting young? That's quite a waste - if they were born adult, they'd be able to develop quicker.

[ These are questions he ponders a lot. ]

Hm, probably. It wouldn't be as though they'd expected to stop building. [this feels a little familiar… probably nothing, though. He relaxes a little more, instead.] I expect to see how it turned out by developing that way.

Dalamud was crafted - why would they stop there? Being able to harness the very power of one of the First Brood would grow Allag forever. [ i mean if xande hadnt snapped but neither of them know that ] That's a fair point - but, again. If it was a Weapon, you wouldn't entrust your life to a child. Ultima-- Ultima was said to be refined. Beautiful. Not as quiet as the one who I helped restore.

I suppose… But in time, it would be something great. [he makes a small sound, nodding.] Ultima- was a lot more thoughtful, I though. I didn't see them recently, though… You helped work on them, too?

[ ...huh. Why does Nero feel a bit of pride from what G'raha said? It must be nothing. ] That I did. Gaius and I - and that damned man in black - we found the Heart of Sabik. [ in other words - as g'raha would know - the core which all these weapon have. But that sort of core only solidifies after a death - they are liquid before it, flowing though them. Not that Nero knows this. ] I installed it, and made sure that my dear Ultima was ready for battle. They only got to show off their skills twice, mind you - before the Warriors of Light ended that little game.
