[Don't show fear. Don't falter from your beliefs. He can see the fear, the anger with very word spoken. Aymeric doesn't even flinch when the man gets right in his face, keeping his look steady as he takes every tone, every word to heart. Of course what happened is horrible, without a doubt and before he can retort, something occurs. Like the puzzle pieces just fell into place.]
...I see now. Why you lock me away, keep me in your sights. So the past cannot be repeated, a chance for a life that another no longer has. Aye, I should have known from the first time when you refused him to speak to me.
[He will not falter. Not even in front of a friend. Haurchefant would never forgive him for it.]
Borelisblade. Borel is blade. That little dragon...your sword...his true name is Aymeric de Borel. The same who was tempered and you saved him. Am I right?
[ He listened. Oh, how he listened so gently. Even as he seemed to hold back tears.
He'd finally figured it out. But of course he would. He was smart and perceptive. Even if it took such a push. Perhaps now he would stay with him and let him fight, let him sacrifice. As he speaks, though, his tone is gentler then it has been for quite some time on this ride. ]
That he is. His mind has faded, but his skills remain. You've seen us in combat... with more training, I can stop Ixion with him.
[ He keeps speaking of himself alone, even after admitting his sword has a soul. ]
He tried to fight him alone, even as Lucia and I begged him not to. Foolishly running away... and throwing himself away for his fallen world. He was from here, after all.
[It's quiet his voice. He needs to hear it. Even Aymeric himself isn't stupid enough to go against a primal if it was known. But as Yua and Yukiko mentioned, other versions of themselves did differently than themselves.]
...He took your father. There was still attachment.
[ Honestly, Haurchefant can understand it. Even if his father was twisted, he had still wanted to save him. Foolish? Yes. But he doesn't know that Ixion was still looking like his father when he first entered.
...This was just time to let everything out, wasn't it? ]
The primal Ixion... used to be Edmont. I don't know where he got this power from.
[ He felt the touch, and without being asked, begins to take the shirt off to reveal his scars. Is that what he wanted? ]
Why would I not save them? My own family is fine... they have no need of me.
[ Of a dragon bastard. He tried once to aid another, to save himself. It did not work well - chaos spread when House Fortemps were said to be Heretics - even with Thordan missing, the family was forced to flee. ]
[Between yes and no. There are some scars, some wounds that will never heal. Aymeric knows this and he can't help but let a hand move to where he knows his fatal mark is. Despite the briskness of the environment around them, the elezen's hand is still surprisingly warm.]
...an apology would not suffice for what you went through.
[Maybe...this would make them be able to understand each other a bit more. And maybe...there will be less tension between the two. Either way, saying sorry was not the only thing that should happen for him.]
[ His eyes close quietly, as he seems to almost sigh. But he doesn't, as he gently touches his own scar. ]
And that is what I do. I simply... desire to protect you.
[ His wings gently fluttering, he doesn't notice the magic smell around them. (You know, because leaving his Glyph is something he doesn't have control over.) ]
[ His own body seems to tense up as he feels it, and he takes a few steps back - not noticing his body has shifted to more dragon-esque. A small lick of the air, and he let out a small laugh. ]
I suppose it wasn't! Maybe the ship is going past a tribe of Sahagin? Come to steal my prey, have they?
[The aether is getting too much as his breathing is getting much more ragged, a hand on his chest. He's starting to think this fog is supposed to trap him again.]
[Good for him but Aymeric seems to still be under the effects. But most of all, his chest feels like it's burning more and he doubles over from the discomfort. Probably pain.]
[ His body also seems to freak out - because his body is feeling an odd burn, all over.
A desire to serve. Is that right...? He seems to panic, placing his hands to his friends' chest... before beginning to claw at Aymerics' clothes. His hands have shifted to claws, you see. If there is an issue, he will fix it.
Even if he may push him to the ground as he works. ]
[He manages to groan that one word out just as he's pushed to the boat's floor, gripping on the dragon's arms weakly. He doesn't know what's going on, just that he screams out Haurchefant's name just as he sees nothing but a white light. Aymeric hasn't exactly blacked out, still being able to hear and slightly see through half lided and dazed eyes, but he's weak at the moment.]
[ His eyes have twisted to even shift to more draconiac, though he does try and pull away. But...
Haurchefant needs to get those clothes off of his ally. Though he doesn't know why, he has to get these clothes off him. Perhaps belowdeck? Nobody seems to get in the way of this half-shifted dragon and his... other person?
He had gotten him down there, into a bed. Into a safe bed. Would he still wake? But what he found worse was... an odd mark on Aymerics' chest, which almost looked like a dragon. Was it simply a birth mark? Haurchefant had never seen him naked like this before. He was attractive. ]
[He can feel the coolness of the air hit his skin, soothing the burning sensation on his chest and beyond. It didn't matter if he's completely exposed to his comrade, what is more concerning is the mark covering most of his upper body. From below Aymeric's collarbone to below his navel, the massive dragon mark glows slightly.]
What...is happening?
[He still aches and his voice is hoarse. But he needs to know...]

And why you desire to become stronger. Not just to put down a primal but to save your family...honestly, this is not just for one person alone.
[How much guilt does he have? He can't help but wonder as he fingers the top of his shirt, a question on his mind but not sure weither to ask or not.]

...I tried to save... myself. In another world. I soared in the way of the attack - and only took it though one of my wings.
He lived. But... the truth was still not out to the world. You can imagine what happened next, right?
[ He doesn't want to talk about it. To remember it. But he adds, quietly: ]
It's the same for my own family. The truth is not out there - would it not be horrific for them to see this?

If my grip had been stronger-- if my shield had been but a little better, none of this would have happened. You could still be...
