pile of creds
[ Th'ancred had heard of the Make it Rain event, and had decided... well, he'd look cute in some of those clothes. And the bar there was good - and his daugher had gone, as well.
Perhaps he wanted to simply relax. The Scions were at rest - as far as they could be. They were preparing to see what the Source would bring - since it seemed to be a calm similar to periods of large activity.
But, for now, Th'ancred sat at the edge of the airship there, legs danging over. He could have teleported - he'd never been cursed by Flow - but he still wanted to feel the air against him. Sometimes he wondered if death was even a concept here. No, they'd be there soon, and he could gamble his heart away. (Maybe see if Alisaie would come home. She'd been set up there for days.) ]

...And, yeeeeah. Kept wanting to steal the Gran Grimoire. [ An artifact which even exists in Eorzea - a forbidden book, said to reshape worlds. And she brings it up so casually. ] That's why-- that's how I got involved in all of this. One of them wanted to steal my translations. And, about five years back? Or... well, more like six now. They murdered my mentor.
[ Moenbryda goes from sounding sad to mad - a soft puff of flames coming out, before she tries to stop another - a little smoke coming from her. Being a dragon was weird. ]

That- I thought no one could touch it. […he heard a vague whisper and got next to nowhere, so. he sounds amazed.] But you've been working on it? Twelve… I'm sorry.
[he might… just try to shift her a little bit away from the books. But- he strokes her back, trying to be reassuring, strange as it feels to do so right now.]
no subject
Really? Because Louisoix kept it with him a lot of the time. In a bag, but still. ...But, uh, thanks. I... was targetted because we were close. And the translation, of course. Which I've got with me, we just can't get to it right now.

Hm… Well- I suppose that's another difference. Though maybe some of the others might know something more… [he shifts more to trying to cuddle her, now.] It wasn't… it's not easy. [a grimace.] That… makes sense. But you're safe enough here, aren't you?

[ But she gulps down a soft sob, as she climbs into his arms. Damnit, she should be comforting somebody new stuck here, even if he has the same charming face as Thancred Waters, famous celebrity.. ]
Yeah, I am. Unless those weird cultists find their way here - y'know, those Ascian.

[she is of a cuddling size, though!
He shakes his head- hoping, but- and cuddles closer.]
… I'd hope they wouldn't have a way between worlds, but… I'd hope they wouldn't be the same ones here, at least. [there's. some mental cursing going on now.]

Who knows? They might be the exact same. I mean, we've both come from other worlds. Not that I'd want that - they're creeps.
no subject
We did, that's true. Still- no, I wouldn't want that either. [he chuckles a little, himself] I'd use something stronger- but that's accurate.

Is it so much to ask for that one of us wasn't?

And maybe - just maybe - these cores keep going though similar events.
no subject
As if it were some sort of loop? Or… something else?
no subject
Why else would those Ascian kill a defenseless old man?
no subject
[he shakes his head.]
I have to wonder why.
no subject
[ She admits, giving a soft little blep to him. ]
Why us, of all people?
no subject
Maybe we'll find something. Though I wonder- perhaps because some of us chose to involve ourselves with the fate of the world…?
no subject
...Not that I wanna think we're not in control.

[ But her head flicks a little. There's another presence in the room. (because of course miscarlet would come for this sort of conversation, all invisible and stuff.) ]
no subject
[his attention flickers a little, and he brings a hand up to scritch. should he be worried?]
no subject
[ And then the others' voice echoes though - still sounding just like he did before, poor Miscarlet. Moenbryda tenses more. ]
To find a perfect timeline. To play with the variables. That is why we are but toys.
[ But that, too, is a guess from the invisible Miscarlet. ]
