[He takes the offered meat, giving the sword a wary look, so much strange stuff was going on, but he couldn't complain. He was one of those strange things.

And when Haurchefant takes his shirt off, Thancred does openly stare for a moment, as that scar looks nasty. How could he have survived that? He then glances down at the food in his hands as he starts to pick at it.]

That is... Good to hear. [But nothing of the other Scions]

[ He puts the blade down, and pulls away from the oven, so it would begin to turn off. He does not like talking about his death. At all. ]
I-- I didn't? I didn't sur-- well. I suppose I did? After I was struck and buried, I was... given new life. By a strange cloaked man? [ He doesn't know, but it wasn't an Ascian. Just a reality warper who was angry he lost one of his 'toys'. But the way he says it, he sounds like he could be a Primal. Maybe he is? ] That's when I was no longer Elezen, and could no longer face those I once knew.
[ He's laughing, at least? ] Who knew the trusted Heavens Ward - guards to the Archbishop, leader to Ishgard - would use spears that could pierce my shield? But it was worth it. Even as they cried and prayed for my life - I got a smile from them.

[Sounds like the Warrior was getting up to their norm share of trouble, then. Thancred just sighs, swishing his tail against the floor, picking a piece of meat off to eat again.]

...Tell me, Thancred - what would you do if... a close family member of yours was seen as dead, and returned as what you dreaded most? Would you think it a miracle, or would you think it a false?

Of course not. They only stay their fangs from me for I smell of Bahamut, if only a little. [ alisaie/bahamut fusion totally made haurche hers. heeeee... doesn't like talking about it. ] You may move it to here, if you desire - I've many holes I've made here - not just for eggs. Or, you may choose your own nest nearby.

Bahamut? [That name brings fear, and he can probably see it on Thancred's face.]

As for the nest, if you have room, I wouldn't mind a corner. It would be good to have company. [And a pause.]

Yes - it's a long story. I don't wish to burden you more with worry, Thancred. Perhaps another time?
[ He frowns. It would take a while, and might make him even more worried. But, his tail started to whip around, wagging like a dogs'. ] And if there were not enough room, I could carve more with my breath.

And, yes, eggs. For my brood, you see - I've got some resting under those leaves.

May I look? I've never seen dragon eggs before. [Yeah, his Scholar side is coming out.]

You may. Not all are fertile - you can tell because their shells do not smell as strongly as those which are.

[ ...haurche isn't gonna mention he lays them. But he does shift, moving towards the leafy cover to lift it. ]

[Thancred follows, crouching down to look when the other man pulls back the leaves. To him, they're fascinating, and he has to stop himself from reaching out to touch one.]

No - they're pretty independent after hatching - my first eggs have already hatched. Perhaps you've seen them? Though I've heard them called Unicolts by adventurers.
[ yes, all those unicolt from the vault are his children. its canon now. But with him getting so close - he's pretty defensive. ]
Some of Bahamuts' eggs are here too - they're the darker ones over there!

[As for Bahamut's eggs, he's just going to stare at them.]

[ He notices the staring, though... ] She leaves them in my protection, so that none are accidentally tempered by the sight of her. Usually, she comes and leaves a batch monthly.

Oh. [For a moment he wondered if the same was true of him. But reproduction wasn't something he was going to focus on now. He glances back at the dark eggs again.]

Interesting. What do they become? Darker unicolts?

Nay, they come out as small Dragonets - though, oddly, with some features of Elezen. I suppose that's why she destroys most of them.

[ A pity, he'd love to take care of them. ]

I suppose that's because she has no connection to Ishgard or a High House...

[They sound cute... for spawn of Bahamut. A creature he never wanted to meet... but apparently was still around.]

I don't know what Bahamut you associate with, but I'm only aware of the elder Primal that destroyed part of Eorzea... Not exactly a dragon who would think of her young... or even have any.

...I don't quite get it, either - who could forget the horrors of Bahamut awakening?
[ He sure couldn't. Creating this cold... ]
But she - this creature called Bahamut - appeared on the beach one day, and my dearest sister adopted her. She's got a bit of a scary look, though - and never seems to talk. I keep an eye out, however - she may still be violent. Perhaps she is simply building up her own horde to fly on Ishgard?
